Cropping
Our cropping program is comprised of 2259 hectares of wheat, barley, canola, lupins and oaten hay in 2010.
Sheep Production
We currently stock 5,500 adult sheep of which 3,500 are ewes. Approximately two thirds of the ewes are Merino joined to Merino or Poll Dorsett sires. The remaining third of the ewes are cross-bred ewes joined to Poll Dorsett rams. Our shearing takes place in March.
Agroforestry
At Ranfurly Agriculture we are committed to the establishment and management of forests on our property not only for the benefit of increased productivity, but also for the social outcomes and the ecological goods and services provided by it. The biodiversity in agroforestry systems is typically higher than in conventional agricultural systems and creates a more complex habitat that can support a wider variety of birds, insects and other animals.
